Practical Teaching Certificate ILS LANGUAGES

Certificate in Education

The I L S Practical Teaching Certificate is a 6 weeks course intended to give practical teaching skills to applicants/tutors/assistants new to teaching or with less than 2 years experience in teaching Adults, Adolescents and Young Children.

Course Duration: 6 weeks
Number of Hours: 30 hours
Course Time/Date: 11.00am to 13.00pm Tuesdays and Thursdays or 6.30pm to 9.30pm
Minimum age 18 years old

The ILS teaching course

Primary objectives of the course

  • How to organise and manage the seating of a group
  • The role of a teacher
  • Activities to develop new and existing skills with listening, speaking, reading and writing.
  • The use of songs, games and videos/DVD in a small group environment
  • Teaching techniques for pronunciation
  • Homework
  • The integration of bilingual children/adolescents in a small group
  • How to write an individual learning report
  • Examination skills to prepare and obtain better results

At the end of the course you will be able

  • To prepare a course plan for the individual learner and a group.
  • To use new teaching techniques and ideas.
  • To adapt teaching materials to your own circumstances.
  • How to apply the use of Tapes/CDs for language learning.
  • To encourage and motivate learning.
  • To gain a ILS practical teaching qualification.

Course Requirements:

Cambridge Advanced Certificate (CAE) would be a minimum level of English

Course Fees:
All fees are payable in advance.

If you are accepted on the course, our confirmation letter will inform you when you need to pay a deposit. For all of our courses we cannot reserve a place until the deposit has been paid.
In all cases course fees must be paid at least four weeks before the start of the course. If you have not paid your fees by that date, you may lose your place.
